Malacañang Palace

The Malacañan or Malacañang Palace sits on the north bank of the Pasig River. It is the equivalent of the white house in the United States. The President of the Philippines resides here and much of the palace is open to the public now, which was not always the case.

The building is designed with Spanish architecture, reflecting it's history and heritage of origin, being built by a Spanish aristocrat. The Malacañang Palace has recently been inhabited by the Marcos family, whose tastes were proven to be on the extravagant side. The interior decorating and grand layout scheme is worth a look for tourists as there is a blend of old and new style.
