The city of Manila is divided into various districts, (Binondo, Quiapo, Sampaloc, San Miguel, Santa Cruz, Santa Mesa, Tondo, Ermita, Intramuros, Malate, Paco, Pandacan, Port Area, San Andres Bukid, and Santa Ana).

There are 3 specific ethnic groups in Manila. The Spanish, the East Asians, and the natives. The East Asian and Spanish groups, companies and families control most political and financial institutions.

The primary language for Manila is filipino, with english and spanish also being commonly used in communications.
